Everywhere you go . . .
The city and the university both have their Christmas decorations displayed, and coloured lights and paper snowflakes line the doors and windows of the dorms.

To quote a friend, it is "splediferous!"
April and I put our little tree up the other day and our room is looking quite festive, if I do say so myself. Our dorm floor is doing a Secret Santa too. I have no clue what to get for the person whose name I drew . . . Hmm . . .
It can wait. As you all know, the Salukis are going to beat William and Mary tomorrow at the playoffs quarterfinal (and it will be awesome [and cold.]) I wonder if it’s legal to use brackets inside parenthesis in grammar like you do in math. Probably not . . . oh well. Tailgating begins at 8 a.m., at which time I fully intend to be asleep, but the 11 a.m. game is one thing I will not miss! In fact, my brother-in-law and seven-year-old niece Katie are coming from Highland to watch it as well.
So, what have I done since the last blog? School is winding down, I’m back “home” for two more weeks, and I have my first round of finals coming up in a mere ten days (eek!) so that means it’s crunch time. Projects and papers are all coming due as professors and students scramble in a mad dash towards the end of the semester. My group gave our presentation in journalism yesterday (yay!) and I delivered my final speech today (double yay!) so now all that stands between me and final week is another journalism project (which entails a four-page article) and a few small papers. Small, by the way, means two to three pages. Double-spaced. A breeze, as long as the Internet is unplugged. (The only solution I have found to remain off Facebook.)
I’m excited for one of my finals. Is that weird. Probably. Let me explain first! For my honors class, Lifestories: Performing the Ties That Bind, our final/final project is to write an instructional narrative to perform that discusses how a set of stories affects our culture. I’m doing a retelling of the Disney princess stories. An extremely sarcastic retelling. Like I said, I’m excited.
Oh, and did I mention the Salukis are going to win tomorrow? =)
